About Malmesbury and the Western Cape

Malmesbury

Malmesbury is the largest town in the area known as Swartland, but is by no means a large town. A small and busy town centre, built originally to serve local farms, is expanding rapidly, to accommodate a full range of new businesses. As holiday and business travel to the West Coast and Swartland grows, Malmesbury has been delivering more and more quality services, from fine restaurants, to luxury business and holiday accommodation. Furthermore, Malmesbury's recently renovated golf estate lies only 2km from the Wine Route Inn.

Swartland

The Swartland area around Malmesbury provides much more than a break from the busy city life! Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek Wes, at the foot of the Kasteelberg, where you can find a number of fine dining and true South African restaurants, is a popular destination for those who seek a countryside lifestyle amidst the lush vineyards and towering blue mountains.

Just West of Malmesbury, Darling offers the same country living experience, but with a distinctly West Coast flavour and some regular entertainment! Evita se Perron, where one can meet Evita - one of South Africa's most renowned comedians - for a laugh and a great meal, is located right in Darling. Darling is only a few minutes' drive from Yzerfontein, where one can often buy fresh seafood from local fishermen, or enjoy a beachfront lunch.

Western Cape

One can't claim to have seen South Africa without a long stay in the Western Cape. Cape Town, the largest city in the province, is a beautiful and vibrant destination at the foot of Table Mountain. Attractions include the V&A Waterfront, the Old Castle, the beaches of the peninsula, the Apartheid Museum, District Six and so much more! North of Cape Town lies the West Coast - an untamed stretch of coastline waiting to be explored.
